There is an unusual story of a woman who was searching for her lost needle.
She searched frantically for it. She went out onto the street and started the search.
Someone asked her what was she looking for. She said her needle was lost.
“Where did you lose it?”, asked the person.
“Oh, I lost it in the house”, said the woman.
“But then why are you searching for it out here?” asked the person.
“Oh, because it is too dark in the house while the street is well lit”, replied the woman.
We may smile, but this story reflects our dilemma too.
We too have lost something that lies within.
Yet, we want to search for it in the outer world.
In the world of name, fame, wealth and possessions, we are searching for bliss.
It belongs to, and lies within, but we want to search for it outside.
As that seems so much “easier”.
