When-Where-How did you start Sahaja Yoga?

I first learned about Sahaja Yoga meditation at a festival for Asian cultures in my town. I was walking around, and I saw a booth where people were just sitting with their eyes closed. Turned out it was Sahaja Yoga, and I eneded up trying it out. When I felt this weird sensation in my arm, like something was crawling up it from under the skin, I knew I had to try it again. Thankfully my library offers classes on Sundays.

What benefits did you get from Sahaja Yoga meditation?

I feel relaxed, calmer, able to focus more on tasks and less prone to distraction. This has not only happened right after meditation, but sometimes for the rest of the day!

I also was able to figure out what I needed to write for a short story after meditating and listening to music meant to stimulate the Swadisthan chakra (associated with creativity). The words just seemed to flow after I meditated. I can’t believe how effective Sahaja meditation is!

Additional Comments

It may seem like you’re just sitting around listening to music at first, but that’s the interesting part: it’s so easy to do, and that’s what makes it an excellent form of meditation for those who cannot sit around for an hour a day just humming mantras and meditating.
